Over three sessions, we'll read and discuss Jayson Gaignard's new book, Community Made: The Truth About Success and the Relationships That Create It. Tuition for this class includes a hardcover copy of the book.

Wednesday, 9/16: How to Find Your People

During our first session, I'll distribute copies of the book. I'll share some of my favorite excerpts from the first section, How to Find Your People. We'll discuss our own personal experiences with finding friendship and community, both strategic and tactical.

Wednesday, 9/30: How to Invest in Your People

During the second session, we'll discuss the second section of the book, focusing on the Six Ways to Invest and Habits of Successful Relationship Builders. Each student will pick one of the core concepts or practices from either of these sections and share an insight, personal anecdote, or reflection with the other attendees.

Wednesday, 10/14: How to Ask Your People for Help

During our third session, we'll conclude our discussion of the book. We'll discuss why it can be so difficult to ask friends and community members for help, why you should ask for help anyway, or how to make the ask.

I'm a community builder, event host, and overscheduled introvert who believes that belonging doesn't happen by accident. Having grown up in a close-knit community, I'm interested in creating that same rich social fabric of friendships, community and a sense of belonging in the new city I call home.
